The Brentidae of Israel (Coleoptera: Curculionoidea)

Abstract

The six species of Brentidae occurring in Israel are reviewed, and an identification key and distributional maps are provided. Three species—Amorphocephala excantator (Damoiseau, 1964), Amorphocephala sulcata (Calabresi, 1920) and Eremoxenus chan Semenow, 1892—are newly recorded from Israel. Amor­pho­cephala arabica Damoiseau, 1964 is considered a junior synonym of Amor­phocephala sulcata (Calabresi, 1920).
