The Israeli species of Cerodontha Rondani are reviewed and C. (Poemyza) israelica n. sp. is described and illustrated. The following seven species are recorded from Israel for the first time: C. (Butomomyza) angulata (Loew, 1869), C. (Cerodontha) phragmitophila (Hering, 1935), C. (Dizygomyza) crassiseta (Strobl, 1900), C. (D.) luctuosa (Meigen, 1830), C. (D.) suturalis (Hendel, 1931), C. (Icteromyza) geniculata (Fallén, 1823), and C. (I.) rozkosnyi Černý, 2007. A key for identification of the subgenera and species in Israel is provided.
