Abstract

New material for the Afrotropical genus Udzungwomyia Grichanov, 2018 has been recently found and identified. Udzungwomyia simoni n. sp. from South Africa is described and illustrated. This new species differs from the other representative of the genus in morphology of the male hind leg and genitalia mainly. A new record is given for the known Tanzanian species, U. morogoro Grichanov, 2018. A new tribe Udzungwomyiini, n. trib. is also proposed for UdzungwomyiaMaipo\myia Bickel, 2004 and Neomedetera Zhu, Yang & Grootaert, 2007.
